The Arby’s Foundation awarded a $5,000 grant to the Sioux Falls Public Schools Education Foundation. The gift will be used to enhance the Student Success Fund. Through this program, school-based social workers connect students in crisis with emergency food assistance, personal hygiene products, and other basic needs. Social workers serve all 37 sites in the Sioux Falls School District.
The Arby’s Foundation has been a longtime supporter of nonprofits working with food insecure and at-risk youth. This is the third grant the Education Foundation has received from the Arby’s Foundation. In May 2022, the Education Foundation used grant funds to sponsor the Native American honoring ceremony. More than 90 Native American students received eagle feathers and star quilts from their family members two days before their high school graduation. The students enjoyed a meal together after the ceremony.
