Education Foundation Accepting Public School Proud Grant Proposals

The Sioux Falls Public Schools Education Foundation is currently accepting Public School Proud Grant proposals. Applications are due Monday, December 2nd at 12 p.m. Any educator in the Sioux Falls School District can apply for up to $10,000 to purchase materials that will give students hands-on, immersive opportunities. Teachers can submit an application for their classroom, their grade level, their building, or district wide. We will accept one proposal per teacher.

Earlier this year, the Education Foundation awarded 61 grants to 99 educators, investing $120,000 in their projects. Teachers received funding to purchase literacy kits, flight simulators, math manipulatives, social emotional learning materials, art supplies, virtual reality headsets, podcasting equipment, 3D printers, programmable robots, task boxes, specialized PE equipment for students with limited mobility, aero gardens, solar panels, and more. Once the deadline closes, a team of administrators reviews the applications to ensure they align with content areas and curriculum standards. After that, an independent Grants Committee screens and scores the proposals. The Grants Committee makes recommendations to the Education Foundation Board of Directors, and the Board determines the final funding allocation.

Education Foundation staff will start to announce the winners in March 2025 and continue through the last week of school. Educators will have the summer to order their materials so that they can implement lessons with the new tools during the 2025-2026 school year.

Completed applications can be emailed to Allison.Struck@k12.sd.us by noon on December 2nd.
