Hy-Vee in Sioux Falls donated 6,900 containers of sanitizing wipes to the Sioux Falls School District. Staff throughout the 37 schools will use these wipes to disinfect desks, tables, chairs, and other high-traffic areas.
Management at Hy-Vee decided to donate the supplies after rising cases of COVID-19 in local schools. Area districts are experiencing increases in student and teacher absences and sub and bus driver shortages, and the wipes are one tool to help mitigate the spread of germs.
“We are grateful to Hy-Vee for their partnership,” said Allison Struck, executive director of the Education Foundation. “They stepped up to support staff on the front lines, and we know educators will use them throughout their buildings. This is an especially useful gift since we were unable to purchase sanitizing wipes a year ago due to supply chain issues.”
