Kelly Gilbert, Michaela Weinandt, Erin Rudy, Devin Kurtz, and Courtney Kanthak from Pettigrew Elementary received $2,278 for their proposal, “Minds On-Task for a Vibrant Education (MOVE).”

They plan to purchase sensory items to help young learners with self-regulation. These items will enhance focus, attention, and cognitive skills by integrating gross motor movement, benefiting students during class, instruction, and playtime. Research supports that such sensory items improve self-esteem, problem-solving skills, and academic achievement.
