Education Foundation Expands Teacher Appreciation Activities

In an effort to enhance teacher appreciation services, the Education Foundation expanded its activities during the first semester of the 2022-2023 school year. All 37 sites in the Sioux Falls School District (including the Instructional Planning Center) received Flyboy Donuts. On the days educators received donuts, Education Foundation staff and Board members thanked teachers for their dedication and passion, shared information about the organization’s grant programs, and highlighted past Public School Proud Grant winners.

Staff from Terry Redlin Elementary enjoy seven dozen Flyboy Donuts.

In addition to the donuts, the Education Foundation provided catered meals to all staff at ten low-income elementary schools. Educators at Anne Sullivan, Cleveland, Garfield, Hawthorne, Hayward, Horace Mann, Jane Addams, Laura B. Anderson, Lowell, and Terry Redlin received wraps/sandwiches, chips and salsa, pasta salad, and dessert. The Education Foundation partnered with Camille’s, Firehouse Subs, and Old Orchard Café and Catering for the meals.

More than 80 staff members at Anne Sullivan Elementary enjoy a catered lunch in December 2022.

Jennifer Van Duyn, the principal at Jane Addams Elementary, said, “What a blessing the meal from Camille’s was! The staff was so incredibly grateful and it was a fantastic way to start the last full week of school in 2022! Thank you again for always thinking of our staff and celebrating their hard work and dedication. It truly takes a village!”
