The fourth annual Teacher Swap Meet will be held Friday, July 26th from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Sioux Falls Convention Center. This event is sponsored by Avera Health, and it is free to attend. The Teacher Swap Meet is open to the public.
We expect more than 60 vendors to participate. Sellers whose materials are organized and clearly marked tend to have the greatest success. Teachers have sold sets of books, science kits, bulletin boards, die-cut designs, board games, flexible seating options, and so much more.
New this year, the Foundation will showcase local talent. Tom Roberts, author of A New Norm, will be at the Teacher Swap Meet from 10 a.m. until noon. Attendees can visit with him about his book and purchase a copy. A New Norm is “an inspirational story intended to touch the lives of children, adolescents and even adults who struggle with difficulties in life and want to find a path to wellness” (https://www.avera.org/services/behavioral-health/a-new-norm-book/)
There is no fee for teachers to sell classroom materials. If an educator would like to sell something like Pampered Chef or LuLaRoe, there is a $100 fee. Individuals, who are not teachers, are able to sell Usborne Books or Rodan + Fields for a $200 fee. In order to reserve a spot, all vendor deposits must be received by June 1, 2019. Checks can be mailed to the Education Foundation, PO Box 560, Sioux Falls, South Dakota, 57101.
