Walmart in Sioux Falls is collecting school supplies for students in the Sioux Falls School District. Bins have been set up in their store on North 60th Street, and customers are able to donate items after checking out at the registers. School supply lists have been posted and are available at the store. The crayons, markers, colored pencils, notebooks, folders, binders, paint sets, and glue will be donated after the collection drive concludes.
The backpacks and other supplies will be distributed at school events and open houses throughout August. Many students move multiple times in the school year, and some of the materials will be available for students throughout the year who transfer to a new school.
